We are a non-profit development agency headquartered in Nairobi Kenya with field offices in Wajir county and Kismayo in Somalia. As an organization operating in the field of conflict prevention, human rights, education, and governance, GCG specifically intervenes through mobilization, advocacy and training activities. Over the years, the organization has been building the capacity of community leaders and residents to resolve conflict and to address the underlying barriers to growth and stability of the region. One of these barriers to growth and stability is climate change. Hence our focus on climate change interventions.
Since its founding in the United States in 2003, the GCG opened its Kenya office in 2005 following the registration by the NGO Board of Kenya as a national NGO with the registration number OP.2018/051/2005/0400/3821. Since then, the GCG has partnered with both local and international initiatives in Kenya and the United States to build the capacity of communities and provide local solutions to the challenges affecting Northern Kenya communities.

The Generation for Change and Growth seeks to achieve the following strategic objectives:
Strategic Objective 1: To establish a well-coordinated and effective strategy for addressing conflicts and promoting peace & security in target regions.
Strategic Objective 2: To improve climate change response and built resilience through improved livelihood systems, rain water harvesting environmental and natural resource management.
Strategic Objective 3: To promote community, women and girls empowerment through facts-finding, research, education and capacity building.
Strategic Objective 4: To ensure good governance, rule of law and citizen participation in political, economic and social development.
Strategic Objective 5: To enhance sustainable use of water resources and contribute to the community and government efforts in availing water and sanitation.
Strategic Objective 6: To promote alternative and sustainable sources of energy.
G CG will contribute to achievement of all the sustainable goals, but specifically goals on the eradication of poverty, inequalities, achievement of water security, peaceful co-existence and towards climate change resilience.
